This is my mock up for my front cover, I think it went relitivley good I like how simple the design is. I made the main contents of the magazine the same colour as the masthead as it will draw attention to the main article.
This is the idea for my double page spread. I had this idea in my head since seeing a lily allen double page spread. I have not finished writing up the article yet but it will be added as soon as i have finished.
This is my contents page, it has one picture on the right of the page and the contents of the magazine flowing down the left hand side. also i have stuck to my colour scheme on this contents page.
Good stuff Jordan. Your model in the pics below suits the genre, for the real pics try and avoid the kitchen as a location as it's not really appropriate.

The double page spread idea doesn't really make sense Jordan. Slimming world doesn't fit with what you need to do.
ReplyDeleteI quite like the front cover with its simplistic layout and eye catching with use of the golden spiral, but your double page spread doesn't really relate to your genre, and I noticed that her glove on her left hand is round the wrong way round.
ReplyDeleteI think the front cover would need an image that stands out from the background slighly more, although I think the large image on the contents page looks good although you could maybe add some images of other artists so your magazine looks full enough! :)
ReplyDeleteI dont like the use of green on the the front cover, it would probably be more effective if you tied the colours in with your image (for example you could use the pink on the models t-shirt rather than a green)? Perhaps consider using a more bold font, the times new roman like font really doesnt go with your genre of music. I do like the main image on your contents page though again, not so sure about the colours chosen for the text.
ReplyDeleteI think the idea of having a big image for the front cover is good, however i don't like the angle of it. I think the model on the front needs to be facing 'us/the reader' or have eye contact with 'us/reader'. I think by doing that it would help draw people to your magazine :)
