What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Whilst making my magazine I used multiple types of software and technologies and have learned how to use these technologies and software effectively. The most used software was Photoshop, I used this to help me construct my magazine, this piece of software allowed me to gather everything that was going to be inputted on to my magazine (Photo’s for example) and merge it into one document.  This software also allowed me to edit and manipulate the images I inserted. As you can see on my final designs, I have ‘cut out’ many of the pictures, this gives a really good effect, and Photoshop makes the process of doing this quite simple.
I have also improved my skills in photography and the understanding on what makes a good imagine, for example the lighting, and the misc en scene. Also I now understand how the face expression and eye contact is important for a front page picture that needs to draw the audience in. The main magazine I gathered all my inspiration from was RWD this magazine covers the same genre as I am doing and also is great at making front pages and was a real help when designing my magazine.
I have also learned how to present my work nicer and more presentable than just sticking it on my blog or inserting it through Scribd. I have found out that YouTube is a great way to present information through video which the majority of people would prefer to watch than having to read. Slideshare is also an attractive way of presenting information; it can be done through Microsoft PowerPoint which leaves a very attractive presentation. There is also Prezi which allows you to insert pictures and information and it will present them in a modern and neat way. Then lastly there is Animoto which then makes a video of all the images you put together and presents them in an attractive way with backing music behind.
