I researched some of the audiences that listen to different genres I am thinking of doing (Grime, pop, Rock).
Grime
- Teenagers
- Working Class, (informal language)
- Males
When I was researching Grime music audiences, I found out that the majority of people that listen to grime, are inner city youth. The majority of people that listen to grime are males, I think this is because of the use of words that some of the artists pick (that are violent or aggressive). However in a recent article written by the independent it states that “grime's appealing to a broader audience”.
This is John Neil, he is 18 years old and is from south London. He Studied media at Coulsdon College he also attended Brit school. John is always on the move so he is constantly listening to music on-the-go. He listens to more underground artists than he does mainstream, this is because he can relate to the underground musicians more as many of them come from his area. Doing media at college and going to Brit school has made John respect music more than others would.
